Bespoke House in Falkland Conservation Area
This house was designed to reflect the old mill buildings that were previously on a site within the Falkland outstanding conservation area and had direct views in and out of historic Falkland Castle.
However, the property became ruinous and was removed from site some years ago. Old pictures were discovered locally and the layout, height and key design elements such as windows, roof pitch, building materials and building heights hark back to the beautiful old mill.
The external form fitted in perfectly with the historic cottages and townhouses in the vicinity while the interior was an open and airy modern space with vaulted ceilings in the bedroom upstairs and the downstairs living room allowing light and magnificent views to flood the rooms.
